1. Introduction
Pack Trekker provides baggage transfer services for customers walking the West Highland Way. By using these services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
2. Service Overview
Pack Trekker offers a daily baggage transfer service between accommodations along the West Highland Way, from Milngavie to Fort William. Baggage will be collected from designated pickup locations and delivered to designated drop-off points as outlined in your booking confirmation.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1 Booking Process
Bookings must be made in advance via the website, phone, or email. A confirmation of your booking will be sent once payment has been processed.
3.2 Payment Terms
Full payment is required at the time of booking. All prices include VAT unless otherwise stated.
3.3 Changes to Bookings and Refunds
- Non-Refundable Rate: If you have booked the non-refundable rate, changes and refunds can only be made within 24 hours of booking.
- Refundable Rate: If you have booked the refundable rate, changes and cancellations can be made up to 7 days before the start date of your service. Cancellations made after this period are non-refundable.
4. Baggage Specifications
4.1 Baggage Limitations
- Each booking includes 1 bag, with a maximum weight of 20 kg per bag.
- Customers may book additional bags for an extra cost, subject to prior arrangement.
- All bags must be clearly labeled with your name, booking reference, and destination address.
4.2 Restricted Items
Pack Trekker does not accept responsibility for fragile, perishable, or valuable items (e.g., electronics, jewellery, cash). You are advised not to pack such items. Pack Trekker will not be liable for any damage or loss of these items.
4.3 Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited:
- Hazardous materials such as explosives or highly flammable items (with the exception of small gas canisters for stoves, which are allowed).
- Illegal substances
- Sharp objects that are not securely packed
5. Pickup and Delivery
5.1 Pickup Procedure
Pickup times will vary depending on the location of your accommodation. Full details will be provided in your booking confirmation. It is your responsibility to ensure your bags are ready for collection at the agreed time.
5.2 Delivery Procedure
The goal is to deliver bags to the designated drop-off point by 4:00 PM each day. Bags will be left at the reception or in a secure location at your accommodation, as instructed by the accommodation staff.
5.3 Unattended Deliveries
If no one is available to receive the bags, they will be left in a secure location at the accommodation. Once delivered, Pack Trekker is not responsible for the security of your bags.
6. Liability
6.1 No Liability for Damage or Loss
Pack Trekker does not accept liability for any damage, loss, or theft of items transported. Customers are advised to ensure their baggage is appropriately insured for loss, damage, or theft. While care will be taken with your baggage, you agree that Pack Trekker cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss during transit.
6.2 Delays
Pack Trekker is not liable for delays due to circumstances beyond control, such as road closures, severe weather, or vehicle breakdowns. In such cases, baggage will be delivered as soon as possible.
6.3 Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring baggage is securely packed and meets the weight and size limits. Pack Trekker is not liable for any damage caused by improperly packed baggage.
7. Insurance
It is recommended that customers take out travel and baggage insurance to cover any potential risks, including loss, theft, or damage to luggage during the transfer.
8. Amendments to Terms
Pack Trekker reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated via the website or email, and continued use of the services will be considered acceptance of any updates.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
